What We Don't Collect

We do not automatically collect, store, or transmit any of the financial inputs you enter into this calculator. Your loan balance, interest rate, and tax profile run entirely in your browser (client-side JavaScript). We only store this data if you explicitly choose to request an email report.

What We Do Collect

We collect standard, anonymized web analytics (page views, referral sources) if you consent via our cookie banner. We do not use fingerprinting, session recording, or behavioral tracking. We do not sell your personal information for money. However, like most websites, we share certain identifiers (like cookies) with third-party tools like Google AdSense. This allows us to serve relevant ads and monetize the site so we can keep the calculator free to use. You can opt-out of this sharing at any time via your browser settings or Google’s ad preferences.

Email Report Collection

If you choose to use the 'Email My Report' feature, we collect your email address, your calculator inputs, and self-reported qualification data (such as estimated tax bracket and account readiness) to generate and send your customized PDF report. We securely store this information and may use it to follow up with relevant insights. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we never sell your data.

Treasury Rate Data

Our server fetches daily treasury yield data from the Federal Reserve (FRED API) to display current rates. This is server-side only — your browser requests rates from our API route, which in turn calls FRED. We cache this data for 24 hours. No user-identifying information is included in these requests.

Google AdSense

This site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. We do not have access to the data Google collects for ad serving.

Affiliate Links

We link to broker websites (Interactive Brokers, tastytrade, Charles Schwab) through affiliate programs. Clicking these links may set a cookie on the broker's site for commission tracking. We do not receive or store any personal information from these referrals.
